TISCO Technology Center, the principal part of research and development of TISCO, is the core of scientific and technological innovation system, which is responsible for research and development of new technology and new product, incubating and industrialization of achievements, use and training of creative talents, planning and coordinating of innovation system, intellectual property right and knowledge management and so on.
TISCO Technology Center is jointly designated to be a national-level Technology Center by departments of former State Economic and Trade Commission, State Administration of Taxation, General Customs Administration etc. in 1996 and it have relatively strong research and development ability. In 2003, the Technology Center was reconstructed in the aspects of functional localization, establishment of institution, research and development mechanism, capacity building and so on. 160 million RMB was invested for perfecting the technique of scientific research and test to further prompt the capability of research and development. In 2007,100 million was invested in building a complete trial site.
TISCO carried out cooperation of “Production, teaching and research “with distinguished educational institutions and research institutions both at home and abroad, signed the agreements on College-Enterprise Cooperation with Sian Jiaotong University, Tianjin University, Beijing Science and Technology Institute, Northeast University, Shanghai University, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, and established joint laboratory. TISCO increased its capacity of technical innovation by engaging in project research with research institutions such as Central Iron and Steel Research Institute, luoyang Research Institute of Refractory Material，Harbin Welding Material Institute and so on.
TISCO won 29 prizes for achievements of provincial or ministerial levels in science and technology field in latest two years, among which are the achievements of “technology development of high quality stainless steel plate” and “TISCO Production Process and Category Development of Nitrogenous Stainless Steel”, which won Second Prize of State Technology Progress. TISCO hold more than 80 patents and 700 independent intellectual property rights, in which more than 100 core technologies has reached advanced world level.
In October 2004,TISCO Technology Center won “Achievement Award of Enterprise Technology Center accredited by state ”issued jointly by State Development and Reform Commission，Ministry of Science & Technology etc.. It ranked fourth among 438 enterprise technology centers accredited by state in 2007.
In May 2004，the postdoctoral workstation of TISCO Technology Center was founded. They employed famous experts such as President of Chinese Academy of Engineering Xu Kuangdi as adviser of the postdoctoral management committee. A group of excellent talents get into research of frontline subject for stainless steel& cold-rolled silicon steel.
TISCO Technology Center equipped with process research labs and category development labs including stainless steel, cold-rolled silicon steel, plates, sections, railway steel, comprehensive use of sources ,iron making, steelmaking, etc. There is more than 570 research staff, among which there are 13 with doctor degree, 62 with master degree, 13 Professors of Engineering, 51 senior engineers, 25 internal distinguished experts, 17 international distinguished experts. At the same time, we implemented the human resources strategy of “five one five”, made greater efforts to attract and train talented persons, and trained a group of high-quality scientific talents with high theoretical level and rich practical experience by sending excellent scientific talents to famous universities in Korea, Germany and American for further study, or to key research institutions for practice.
The physics lab and chemistry lab of TISCO Technology Center are approved by China national accreditation service for conformity assessment. In recent years, inspection and research measures of the labs were improved a lot, the main research equipments including: deep drawability testing machine, thermo simulator, ferritic tearing tester, transmission electron microscope, electrochemical corrosion tester, periodic immersion corrosion tester, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, atomic fluorescence, Simultaneous Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometer, Field Emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometer, automatic microscope durometer and so on. The entire equipments sum to 236 sets, among which 32 large-sized analyzers provide advanced measures for the research. We will establish gradually 16 scientific labs with international advanced level such as thermo simulation, microscopic analysis, numerical simulation, corrosion, molding, welding, coating etc., and will build up a trial site integrating with melting, hot rolling, cold rolling and heat treatment function.
